What’s So Funny? Workplace Humor and Ethics

Imagine that, ethics with benefits! At this interactive workshop, you will learn about your ethical responsibilities along with the risks and uses of workplace humor. Case studies will be discussed to promote the use of healthy workplace humor.

Program objectives: 

1) Explore workplace humor theories, functions, styles and trends

2) Learn about the therapeutic benefits of workplace humor in regards to communication, relationships, mental wellness/resilience, conflict resolution and self-care

3) Discuss appropriate and inappropriate uses of workplace humor, including respect for others, integrity, stress management and boundaries

4) Complete a personalized “Humor Profile” that identifies participant behaviors, attitudes and competencies for ongoing professional growth

Provides 3 hours of approved continuing education credit for counselors, social workers, and psychologists (SUPERVISION, PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT)
