Zeyn Joukhadar, PhD is member of the Radius of Arab American Writers (RAWI) and of Mensa. His work has appeared in Salon, The Paris Review Daily, The Kenyon Review, The Saturday Evening Post, and elsewhere, and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the Best of the Net.
His first novel is a sweeping tale told through the eyes of Nour, a young Syrian-American girl whose family returns to the Middle East after the death of her father. Nour's story is mirrored in a tale her father used to tell her as a child, about Rawiya, a twelfth-century girl who disguised herself as a boy in order to apprentice herself to a famous mapmaker.
